It’s time to take a look at NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCIES.
According to research , 95% of chronic diseases are caused by poor food choices , NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCIES, toxic food ingredients and finally lack of exercise . All these factors can be dealt with.
What is nutritional deficiency ? This occurs when there is severe reduced levels of one or more NUTRIENTS, thus making the body unable to normally perform its functions which then leads to an increased risk of several diseases like CANCER , DIABETES AND HEART DISEASE .

These deficiencies can be divided into two :
MACRO-nutrients ( sources carbs , protein , good fats ) and these can cause diseases like kwashiorkor , growth retardation, marasmus etc
MICRO-nutrients ( vitamins , minerals , amino acids and enzymes ) and deficiencies can lead to intellectual impairment, aging , degenerative diseases . Examples of common micronutrients are iron , folate, magnesium zinc and iodine . These are minerals . Vitamin deficiencies include D , A , B .
Micronutrients are needed in small quantities when we compare them to the macronutrients, yet their deficiencies can lead to severe health problems . They are essential to life.

Four very common nutrient deficiencies are vitamin D and magnesium .
Do you know that magnesium is needed in over 300 different biochemical processes in our bodies . Just imagine how that would manifest as disease if there’s a deficiency . Low magnesium can lead to leg cramps . Magnesium is needed in the cardiovascular system and plays a role in lowering blood pressure .
Low vitamin D can lead to depression . In fact it’s a major cause of SAD : seasonal affective disorder . Depression that manifests in the winter mostly because of little exposure to sunlight that’s needed to create vitamin D .
Low it on levels of iron and folic acid ( vitamin ) B9 can lead to anaemia .
I must add that to correct micronutrient deficiencies, we must remember that nutrients work together in synergy . This means that there is a cooperative action between vitamins and minerals . So correcting a deficiency of one may require the addition of other ones
